Lamb Skewers with Ajwain Seeds, Grilled Chilli Beef Burgers
It has been so hot today that the kids couldn't play outside for longer than 15 minutes each time. It is ironic that we are now in Summer and we want only to stay indoors.

Crèpe with raspberries and cream (and sesame seeds)
I made jug after jug of lemonade and orangeade all afternoon for 6 children. We also had crèpes for tea and the little girl who didn't want to eat lunch ate 3 of them!
Herbal Jelly with Lychees
This evening, I had planned to make a BBQ : lamb skewers rolled in ajwain seeds, Chilli Beef Burgers and a Fiorentina. I also fried a few pappadams and made Okra in Garam Masala and for dessert, I just had to put together a cool and refreshing Herbal Jelly with Lychees.
Chilli Burgers :
600g choice cut minced Piemontese Beef
1 fresh red Chilli (sliced)
2-3 dried Bird's eye chillies (crushed)
2 Tsp ground Black Pepper
2 Tsp ground Cumin seeds
2 Tsp Thyme leaves
1-2 Tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped - optional)
2 Tbsp Olive oil
Mix everything together and shape into patties by hand. Set aside (in the fridge) till ready to grill. If you like it, you can also add chopped onions and garlic to your raw meat, but I prefer to add grilled onions separately.

I prefer to salt the meat after it has been cooked. We eat our beef rare so it's important for the beef to be fresh and of good quality.
