Eldest Son turns 12

Eldest Son at 6 months

I wasn't a teenage mom so I can no longer pretend that I'm still in my 20s when my son has just turned 12. Does he have to grow up so quickly? Will he remember the number of times I had to carry him, change his diapers, wake up for him? No. All he wants nowadays is more playtime, more video games and more chocolate. Often I had to hold a cane to his face to remind him to watch his language and attitude in front of me. And that's only the beginning.

Still he has been a really sweet and beautiful (still is, actually) baby and has given me much joy and many kisses before he started having homework. I think I'd probably stopped looking upon the boy as the 8th Wonder of the World the day he started school.

Baked Potato and Egg Curry Puffs

Anyway, I couldn't bake him a cake to take to school today as there was a Bake Sale at school. Didn't want to be accused of spoiling sales from Middle Years schoolchildren, so I baked him a few Curry Puffs to share with his classmates instead. And he had his Birthday presents (some Play Station 2 wrestling game and a Ferrari fountain pen - when he wants to he has beautiful handwriting) last evening and will receive more when I throw him his Birthday party at the movies next week.

So Happy 12th Birthday, my eldest child, and may you have a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. In the meantime, please finish your homework before the due dates, thank you very much.

Hi Gals and thanks for the wishes.

If you were the one who used the word "Gian Tau" in my kitchen when refering to my son then you've already told me that :-).
