Bra, Piedmont, Italy

Bra

After lunch at Grinzano Cavour, we made our way to the town of Bra to have an ice cream. Yes, the kids wanted ice cream and what we wouldn't do for them.

The townhall

Bra is the birthplace of Carlo Petrini, founder of the Slow Food movement and of the world’s first University of Gastronomic Sciences. Bra is also home to ‘Cheese’, a biennial international festival usually held over the 3rd weekend in September organised by Slow Food which features the makers of artisanal cheeses from across the world.

Sant'Andrea Church (there was a wedding)

We had gelati and pastries at Pasticceria Converso and boy were they good! I am still thinking of my stracciatella and limone gelati and wish I could have more of it. The place was recommended to us by the Ristorante del Castello and now when I took a look at its website did I gather that it must be owned by a relative of the Chef A. Boglione. A very good address.
