Scopello, Sicily

Beach at Scopello

On our way back from Segesta, we decided to make a detour and visit the famous coastline north of Trapani where the beautiful nature reserve dello Zingaro stretches from beyond the fishing village of Scopello to San Vito Lo Capo. Unfortunately we didn't have the courage to leave the car and walk through, with MIL and the 3 kids, the tunnel, along kms of rough tracks, through bays and coves that link the 2 sea resorts, contenting ourselves with a quick tour by car and a few hours lazing on the pebbly beaches in Scopello.

How wonderfully lucky! A beautiful beach with hardly anyone. I bet when I'm there in July, every cm of the beach will be occupied by a sunbathing body! :-P

Heh S, we went to Scopello as well and sunbathed and swam at the little pebbly beach in front of the old 'tonnara' which is just on the right hand side of those faraglioni in your pics. Where is that seemedly longer and bigger pebbly beach you all went to?
