Baby Girl 1st time on skatesBalance is not my thing. Neither do I like cold and crowded places. But the kids and the Hub have good balance and are not bothered by the cold. Hub started his PhD in Montréal and used to ice-skate quite a bit in those days.
Eldest Son skating on iceSo I have decided not to be a dictator this year and conceded to the majority wish to join the rest of the school for 2 hours of ice-skating in Fanano.
Baby BoyThe PTA organised the event (well done ladies!), booking the ring for our exclusive use. The Babies went on the skates for the first time in their lives and Baby Girl as usual impressed by skating away (albeit clumsily) immediately. Baby Boy liked being on the skates but needed more help which is what dads and teachers are for - because mommy is of not much help here.
Hub and the kidsMommy stood on the side (after stuffing her face with pizza and pasta at the restaurant upstairs) admiring some of the parents skating gracefully away and wishing that she could do the same. Mommy also chatted with other moms and dads and took pictures (bad ones) and a fleeting thought crossed her mind - if Loon were here he could have shown everyone why he was an ice-skating champion. Like if you didn't have too many extra kilos on you to start with.
