Happy Kids at the Beach

View from UV Tent
It rained almost every day when we were in Maranello.
And on our last weekend there, Hubby said that we would go to the beach rain or shine. Such bravado.

He was lucky the skies were kind to him and gave us pretty good weather the Saturday in question.

We had to drive hours though to get to the beach. This time around we went to the Mediterranean coast. You park along the road, walk through a nature reserve and then you are at the beach.

What I like about this beach is the lack of up-for-rent parasols and loud music. You basically choose your spot and just settle down and that's just the way I like it. OK, so I'm a cheapskate, but honestly it breaks my heart to pay a few dozen euros for a parasol and 2 chairs.

I turned up with a UV tent for the kids (but I was the one who spent time inside), a baby water melon and lots of newspapers (Le Monde). Sand and sea water do not really appeal to me. A pain trying to eat watermelon and not chew sand at the same time.

Busy busy

I will write on our other beach outing to Rimini (great seafood restaurant) and our short visit to this charming town just after the Med Coast beach outing another day. Have to get back to the washing and horrible administrative details (newsflash : just discovered that Eldest Son's passport has expired since March and so much for my plans to send him back to Singapore for his Summer hols in July!)

Hey Serene
Great photos! You´ll have the beach! That´s so great for children and for you too! Can just bring them there and you can have time for yourself too. I´m free everyday next week in the morning till 1pm. Just let me know if you have any time k? If not, hope we´ll have to meet in Italy then.

I would luuuurve a day at the beach right now. Lucky you!

Your kids look so adorable, especially Baby Girl. I want to pinch her cheeks.

Dutchess, beach's not my thing, so you're welcome to it. Baby Girl certainly has loads of cheek(s)- hehe - courtesy of her father. Though they all insist that she looks like me.

Pris, ahhh, I want to pass on a few stuff from the freezer e.g. gyoza skins, lemongrass, curry leaves, african chillis...and also the fondue set. Shucks, but time's running short. I'll need to drive the stuff to you as they are frozen. Maybe I'll do a come-and-go operation and you can always come back with me, of course. I'll let you know. Maybe Tuesday or Thursday (though movers will be here starting Thursday).

Would you be able to pass by with your hubby's car to pick up the stuff? Late afternoon or evening, for example. I'm really up to the neck...

Su, did you find the Asienladen in Nurtingen? If not just go to BETA in Wangen, it's big.

I have 2 small packets of curry leaves from my Malay neighbour's plant in S'pore, if you want you can spilt with Pris. But must come and collect with car (it's frozen). BTW, would you be interested in a few old toys for babies?

Beau, thanks for the offer. Mebe I'll dropby your place tommorrow if it's possible. Thought I should visit u before u leave. Have not gone to the Asienladen store in Nurtingen. Dun mind getting the toys for my son. I won't be long here too.

Su, email me normally. This evening Pris' coming by, so if you want a packet of curry leaves let me know so I'll just give her one. For the toys, there are like 3 or 4 and more meant for babies like from birth till 1 or 2 years max. I've thrown or given away most of my stuff last year, such a pity. For Nurtingen you should have taken up my offer to drive you, up till last week it would have been possible...Talk to you again.
